Cartridge Not Registering

Installing a Needle Cartridge

Insert the drive ball end of the Cartridge into the Medipen.
Turn Cartridge a quarter-turn clockwise to securely lock it in place.
Keep the protective cap in place until immediately before treatment.

A Cartridge can be installed while the Medipen is powered on or off; however, the needling motor will not run without a Needle Cartridge installed.

Adjusting Needle Depth

Use the Depth +/- buttons to increase or decrease the needle depth (respectively). A single tone will be emitted for each valid button press.

2. The Medipen will emit a double tone to indicate the new depth value has been accepted and the selected depth will be displayed on the Depth Indication Digits.

Adjusting Needle Speed

Use the Speed +/- buttons to increase or decrease the needle speed (respectively). A single tone will be emitted for each valid button press.
The Medipen will emit a double tone to indicate the new speed value has been accepted, and the selected speed will be displayed on the Speed Indication Arc.
The speed can be adjusted without a Cartridge connected to the Medipen.

Force Syncing the Medipen

In certain cases, it may be required for you to conduct a forced sync of your device.

If you have been requested to 'Force Sync' your Medipen to your phone/tablet running the Medipen app by the Support Team, please follow these steps.

Ensure Bluetooth is switched ON for your iOS device
Please ensure Bluetooth is enabled for the Medipen app
Open the Medipen app
Login using your correct email and password credentials, this should open the app on the products page which lists all the pens registered to that account.
Select the Medipen you wish to update. This should open a screen showing the Pen's details with a button to Connect and Sync.
Place Pen into pairing mode by pressing and holding both the Increase Depth (+) and Increase Speed (+) buttons for 5 seconds
When the Pen is in Force Sync Mode, Select the Connect and Sync button
Wait for the Medipen app to tell you that synchronisation is complete and for the pen to be in the ready state.

Where can I find the serial number of my Medipen?

Remove the battery cover of the Medipen and you will be able to see the serial number label.

What do the audible tones mean?

The Medipen emits the following audible tones:

Single Tone: Indicates a button press
Double Tone: Indicates Speed/Depth setting accepted, or there is an alert requiring attention
Triple Tone: Indicates a Critical Battery Alert or Motor Error

What do the lights flashing on the Medipen mean?

The Status LED displays three different states:

Blue: Normal Operation
Orange: Attention
Red: Contact Support
